Fireworks at the Charade Super Show

Fireworks at the Charade Super Show

The national holiday has transformed into a motorsport celebration on the heights of Clermont-Ferrand, where the third edition of the Charade Super Show exceeded all expectations, drawing 12,000 spectators, 12 renowned drivers, 200 racing vehicles… and even the sun!

When the GCK Group launched the Charade Super Show two years ago, the circuit’s owners envisioned a truly unique event, bringing together historic and modern vehicles, cars, and motorcycles, in the presence of champions from past and present eras. Mission accomplished! For its third edition, held over two days for the first time, the event attracted 12,000 spectators, solidifying its place among the essential events on the French motorsport calendar.

One of the standout features of the 2024 event was the poignant celebration of the 50th anniversary of the last French Motorcycle Grand Prix held here in 1974. For this occasion, the Spirit of Speed Association supported the organizers in assembling 80 racing motorcycles – spanning all eras, nationalities, brands, and engine sizes – some ridden by legends like the 1990 sidecar world champion Alain Michel, and speed demons Raymond Roche and Christian Sarron who was honored with a commemorative helmet, presented by Éric Boudot (GCK) and Pascal Tomek (Motul), in tribute to the 40th anniversary of his 250cc World Championship title. In a completely different style and from a different generation, stunt queen Sarah Lezito, 31, thrilled the audience with a breathtaking show, featuring wheelies, stoppies, burns, and more.

The car paddock also boasted illustrious names such as Jean-Claude Andruet, Soheil Ayari, Jean-Philippe Belloc, Romain Monti, Jean Ragnotti, Valentin Simonet, and local drivers Nathanaël Berthon and Rudy Servol. Drivers from diverse backgrounds participated in various sessions, showcasing more than one hundred models across a wide spectrum of disciplines, from single-seaters (F1) to drift, endurance, touring, rally, and off-road.

In addition to the on-track excitement, spectators enjoyed a range of activities (simulators, slot racing, inflatables, etc.) and explored vendors’ stalls (miniatures, fashion, books, etc.), while Saturday night featured dancing to the beats of Little Odetta and DJ Leoquisnap on stage.

Looking forward to the 4th edition, the circuit will reopen to the public on Sundays, August 4th and September 1st, for the Charade Classic, an event that gathers over 1.000 vintage vehicles on the first Sunday of each month from April to October.

“THE FORMULA THAT BRINGS TOGETHER ALL GENERATIONS”

« Seeing Jean Ragnotti alongside his Renault 5 Turbo from the 1982 Tour de Corse, or Christian Sarron on the Yamaha TZ with which he clinched the 750cc World Championship runner-up title in 1977, evokes strong emotions. Charade provides the authentic backdrop that these poignant reunions deserve. By combining historical tributes with modern shows like stunt and drift, we’ve found a formula that unites all generations around a shared passion! We take pride in revitalizing this circuit, which many consider one of the most beautiful in the world. »
