JD Classics Jaguar XJ13 project - Simon deBurton gets to grips with “True Spirit”.
JD Classics announce new collaboration with Clarendon Fine Art.
JD Classics move HQ back to their spiritual home in Maldon Essex.

JD Classics, one of the leading classic automotive engineering companies, has today announced a number of exciting updates, as the new management team forges ahead with ambitious plans to expand and consolidate its reputation as a global powerhouse in the classic and historic car sector.

Since unveiling the True Spirit of XJ13 project at Retromobile in Paris at the beginning of the year, the JD Classics team have been working tirelessly to have the car up and running to once again enjoy the bellow of Jaguar’s original 500HP prototype V12 engine. This is the only remaining original XJ13 engine in the world, bar the one in Jaguar’s own XJ13 currently kept at the British Motor Museum. With Christmas fast approaching, the car roared into life with The Financial Times’s Simon deBurton at the wheel, the culmination of a project over 45 years in the making.  See link for the full story, where you can see the video of the car tearing down the runway at Henstridge airfield, Somerset at breakneck speed.

Meanwhile, back in London’s Mayfair, a collaboration between JD Classics and Clarendon Fine Art kicked off last night with pre-Christmas reception at the Dover Street Gallery.
Guests enjoyed a thrilling intersection of fine art and classic cars, with James Martin’s 1965 Ford GT Superformance race car, a multiple race-winner, taking centre stage within Clarendon’s Mayfair gallery.
The gallery group, founded by Helen Swaby in 2010 now boasts over 80 galleries in the UK, and expanding internationally, shipping both fine art and sculptures all over the world.

JD Classics and Clarendon share a commitment to make the purchase and enjoyment of fine art and classic cars a more accessible and inspiring experience, helping ensure that the next generation understand and enjoy these works of art.

Finally, and as part of the on-going management commitment to future-proof the business, JD Classics has moved its HQ back to its original home in Maldon, Essex. The newly occupied complex of buildings provides a charming setting for the main restoration, maintenance, race preparation and sales facilities.

After a long absence, the new team are delighted to be back in the ancient Essex town, with its own rich and varied history. This is where award (and race) winning success originally started for JD Classics and provides a fitting setting for restoration of a classic business in a new phase of growth.

News of more exciting developments at JD Classics is promised to follow.
