In December 2021, Shelby American announced its intention to resurrect the fabled GT500KR model to celebrate its 60th anniversary with plans for a limited run of 180 King of the Road post-title modification packages available for domestic 2020-2022 model year Shelby GT500s—just 60 for each model year—and 45 for the international market. Of these years, the 2022 GT500KRs, including this example, feature special 60th Anniversary badging exclusive to these cars. The 2022 models were sold out within hours of the announcement and are the most desirable versions available for sale today.

This 2022 Shelby GT500KR is one of only two finished in Eruption Green Metallic. Powered by a supercharged 5.2L Predator V-8, this 900-plus HP modern muscle car features a 3.8L Whipple supercharger, Shelby high-performance coolant reservoir and a 3-inch Borla/Shelby cat-back exhaust. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission delivers rapid shifts, while the Shelby-tuned MagneRide suspension and Outlaw G-Force axle provide track-ready handling. A GT500KR exclusive carbon fiber hood, front splitter, rear diffuser and Gurney flap enhance aerodynamics, while the Shelby-painted Star White Metallic stripes on the outside create a menacing contrast to the green body color.

Inside, the car has exclusive GT500KR Recaro leather seats and back-seat delete with a color-matched Eruption Green Metallic harness bar, and serialized Shelby badging adds to its exclusivity.
