Super Nova’s Adam Carroll started on third row of the grid in fifth position, after finishing 4th in Ssturday's first round at Magny Cours. Both of the teams’ drivers got off to a good start, Adam instantly moving up a place, Giorgio holding his 10th position, unable to pass the cars blocking him in front. Giorgio kept the same position until mid race where he moved up three places to 7th.
The morning was definitely heating up, and so too was it action on the circuit! Several cars had to retire after spinning off, Adam’s car was hit by Premat, who eventually retired after a collision with Jose Maria Lopez. Adam was able to carry on but both he and Giorgio experienced lack of grip throughout the 28-lap race, after several set up changes were made from yesterdays first round.
Nico Rosberg won with an impressive 25.3 second lead, in front of Hiroki Yoshimoto of BCN Competition and Arden’s’ Heikki Kovalainen.
However Super Nova continue to hold second place in the Team’s championship, along with Adam Carroll also second in the driver championship.
Giorgio Pantano (P7)
“I think today we did our best and that’s all we can do. We had a lot of problems with the braking, therefore we need to work together to find where the problems are and hope we can do better at next weekends race in Silverstone ”.
Adam Carroll (P6)
“It was a very tough race today. The changes we made to the car just didn’t work. So basically I just tried to bring it home and score some points, which we did! Hopefully Silverstone will be good; and we’ll have a chance to move back up to the front of the grid.”
Team Principal – David Sears
“Both Super Nova drivers struggled in today’s race at Magny Cours. Adam Carroll ended up 6th and Giorgio Pantano in 7th position; Nico Rosberg won the race. Both Adam and Giorgio suffered with a general lack of grip throughout the race, after a set up change from yesterday, which proved to be wrong. However Super Nova still stay second in the teams championship, and so does Adam in the Drivers Championship.”
