USA Sprints Invade Citrus County

The USA Sprints Florida’s # 1 Dirt Sprintcar Organization will make their 3rd visit to the action packed Citrus County Speedway in Inverness Florida Saturday Night August 13th. This will mark the 9th race on pavement for the 2005 Southern Thunder Tour season for the South Florida Dirtcar Series. The last scheduled race at Hialeah 7-30-05 was postponed due to rain storms and will unfortunately not be made up as the Track will close its doors forever on August 13th. We will miss the track and we appreciate the opportunity Hialeah and Drew Ogden has given the USA Sprints. Thanks Drew!

There have been 3 different Winners thus far in 2005 with Scotty Adema, the "Fort Myers Flash", who is known as a pavement specialist, taking top honors six times. Along with Adema "Tiny" Tim George, multi time East Bay Champ, and Winner of the first race at Hialeah Speedway will make his return visit there as well. Dennis Misuraca won at Citrus County the last time out and will be a force to be reckoned with. "Tiny" Tim who pilots the Venice Wrecker Shaw # 1 will take his marginal point lead into this race over RC Roper "The Racin Cowboy" # 92 Keels & Wheels Special and Adema in the Tommy Rice owned # 67 Old Castle Precast J & J sprinter.

Among the USA newcomers this year hailing from Cape Coral are Rookie Jeff "G-Man" Styner in the 15jr and the # 63 of Dave Oblinger who returns to the seat in a Sprinter after nearly 20 years. Oblinger has Winning experience and could be a dark horse in this weeks race. Car owner Dave Link is very happy with Oblinger’s return to the seat and it showed with a fine 3rd place finish at Hialeah in his first and only time out in the # 63 back in March. Look for Donnie Maxwell # 5, Sean "Zippy" Namor # 10n, and young rookies Michael Smith # 9 and Dakota Stevens # 79 to be up front as well. Be sure to make plans for this weekend’s race.
