JONES AND PARRY BUSY SEPTEMBER SCHEDULE
Stuart Jones and Craig Parry will have an extremely busy schedule for September, contesting four rallies over four weekends. The pair will resume their championship campaign in the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge 2005 and Stuart will contest his first World Rally Championship event. The hectic schedule all kicks off in Ludlow, with the Woodpecker Stages on Saturday 3rd September.
The Welsh pair head to Newton Stewart in South West Scotland and the Park Systems Furniture Stages on Saturday 10th September. The Scottish event is the seventh round of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge 2005. Stuart, having already won three of the previous six events contested, knows another win is essential to keep his championship alive.
Jones and Parry then make the trek back to Wales to start preparations for Jones first insight into the British round of the World Rally Championship and the Wales Rally of Great Britain, which takes place on 15th-18th September. Although the pair will conduct the reconnaissance of the stages prior to the rally start date.
The final rally in the schedule will be a relaxed affair as the rallying duo hope to contest the Plains Rally, based in Stuart's hometown of Welshpool on Saturday 24th September.
Stuart and Craig will start the ball rolling on the Woodpecker Stages, when the pair contests the event at the wheel of their Proton Satria.
"The rally is basically for us to blow off the cobwebs, having not competed on a rally since our win in Swansea back in July. It also gives me a little more time in the car with Craig. I am really looking forward to the rally and driving a front wheel drive Group A Kit Car again."
Jones could capitalise on a decent result on the Welsh National championship qualifying event, the 2004 Welsh National Champion currently lies second in the series, just six points off the leader.
The Woodpecker Stages starts from Ludlow Racecourse at 8.30am on Saturday with seven special timed stages and over forty- three competitive miles in some classic Welsh Border forests.
Stuart and Craig are supported in 2005 by VK Vodka Kick, Silverstone Tyres, J.T. Hughes Group Mitsubishi, Rallytech, Mick Jones Timber, R&D Transmissions, Broadoak, Toora, Anglo American Fuels and Scotprint.
