GP2 series unveils 2006 Calendar

The GP2 series will begin a new year of competition on February 22nd, when our first 26-car test session  kicks  off  at  Circuit  Paul  Ricard  in  France.  With  a  total  of  five  tests  and 23 races at 12 venues scheduled to take place over the course of the 2006 season, the calendar is sure to test the physical and psychological resolve of all our teams and drivers, as they strive towards glory and the GP2 series crown.

As in 2005, the GP2 series will feature at 11 rounds of the Formula One World Championship in 2006. This season, however, the GP2 series will begin with a stand-alone event at the Circuit de la  Comunitat  Valenciana  Ricardo  Tormo,  in  Valencia,  Spain.  This  first  event  will  feature  on  the back of the final pre-season GP2 series test at the same circuit.
