Sunoco Performance Products is announcing the introduction of Sunoco 260 GTX, a premium unleaded racing fuel designed to meet the racing needs of sports car sanctioning bodies as well as many other high performance racing applications. Sunoco continues its tradition of setting the standard for providing fuels for high performance racing applications. During the early 60’s Sunoco had a street gas, 260, designed to meet the needs of the popular muscle cars of that era.
“We have a long history in developing fuels for high performance engines,” commented Mike Miller, Technical Manager, Sunoco Performance Products. “It is rewarding to be able to continue the 260 tradition with this new fuel.”
Sunoco 260 GTX is a pure hydrocarbon fuel with no metal based additives and will have no effect on sensors in computer controlled vehicles. It has no alcohols or ethers and is non- oxygenated, making it a good application where manufacturers recommend little or no alcohols. In addition, with a low dielectric, 260 GTX will easily meet the requirements of most sanctioning bodies.
Sunoco 260 GTX was developed with assistance from the Grand American Road Racing Association and several of the Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype teams.
