Fans to flock to Easter Thunderball fun
Thrill fans are set for full sensory overload when Santa Pod Raceway bursts into life with its season opener of the fastest, craziest cars and bikes from around the world over the Easter Weekend.
The home of British Drag Racing is set it host its biggest and best annual Easter Thunderball event; marking the start of a year-long celebration of 40 years of Santa Pod drag racing action.
So many action-packed events have been shoe-horned into the Easter Thunderball - the season opener – the event has been extended to become a four-day festival of high-octane speed.
Highlights will include 300mph Top Fuel Dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, Jet Vehicle Demos, Monster trucks, car stunts by the masterful Terry Grant, plus the MSA National Drag Racing Championship, with over 15 classes featuring the best Top Methanol Dragsters and Funny Cars in the country.
But it’s the big guys who have the most to prove. With no championship points at risk, the 8,000bhp, nitro burning, 300mph dragsters will be able to give it their all in the one-off Pro Fuel Shootout. From launching off the start line to blurring past the finish in less than 5 seconds, the big guys will be fighting it out to see who will be crowned Thunderball King.Bikes have not been left out either. The Easter Thunderball features a Rocket Bike ridden by the crazy Eric Teboul he will travel up that famous strip in around 5 seconds...!), Drag Bikes, Freestyle Motocross demonstrations, as well as motorcycle stunt action from Paul Gower, a truly heart stopping experience!
The UK’s fastest, most action packed venue promises fun for the whole family through the Thunderball; including kid’s entertainment, monster truck displays, fun fair, sideshows, traders, plus a firework extravaganza on Saturday night.
As part of Santa Pod’s 40th birthday celebrations, the event will play host to drag racing legends and heroes, including the vehicles from yesteryear which created the foundation of today’s modern sport.
