THE STUFF OF LEGENDS!
Having kicked off in February, this season’s live programming on Motors TV moves up a gear in March, with some of the most legendary events in motorsport: The Daytona 200, the 12 Hours of Sebring, V8 Supercars from Adelaide and NASCAR.
AMA Daytona 200
This is the first major live event on Motors TV in March. The Daytona 200 takes place at the Daytona Raceway and is the focus of the annual ‘Bike Week’; seven days of motorcycle madness in the Florida sun, with bike fans enjoying exceptional racing on a half oval/half infield road course circuit. Three classes form the AMA racing action; Superbike, Supersport and Formula XTreme, the latter selected last year to compete the 200 Miles.
The best AMA riders in the US wouldn’t miss Daytona for the world. Top of the list is Miguel Duhamel, five-time winner of the event and the current title holder. Who will take the crown away from him? The answer will be seen live, as Motors TV broadcasts the entire race live, as well the Superbike race.
Saturday 11 March, from 19.00 – LIVE
ALMS: 12 Hours of Sebring
It is traditional for the Sebring 12-hour race to launch the new American Le Mans Series (ALMS). This endurance event is another legend of world motorsport and will commemorate its 54th anniversary with a face-lift and a spectacular entry list. Audi will celebrate its official return to sportscar racing with the brand new, diesel-engined R10 prototype, using Sebring as a dress rehearsal for this summer’s Le Mans 24 Hours. Porsche will also be entering the event with its new Spyder RS prototype, which is already worrying more than a few people. Running in the LMP2 class, it looks like it could even win the event outright. For the third year running, Motors TV will broadcast this marathon live, starting in daylight and ending in the darkness of the Florida night.
Saturday 18 March, from 15.00 – LIVE
V8 Supercars: Season Opener in Adelaide
Motors TV once again heads down-under for the first round of the spectacular Australian V8 Supercar Championship, from Adelaide, following a non-championship race in Melbourne. The Adelaide street circuit forms one of the best events of the season and gives the first indication of how the forthcoming season may play out.
The established pecking order will inevitably change, with the departure of Marcos Ambrose, the winner of the event last year, who heads for NASCAR. The tables may also be turned by the Triple Eight team, which is getting stronger and stronger, as is its star driver, Craig Lowndes. The series has never been so competitive and the coming season is full of question marks.

The NASCAR freight train
The new NASCAR Busch season started in February at Daytona but will soon begin its relentless march forward, with races taking place back-to-back in March. Although one event takes place outside the USA, in Mexico, the other races will all be in North America, at Las Vegas, Atlanta and Bristol.
Round 3, Mexico, Monday 6 March, 20.00
Round 4, Las Vegas, Saturday 11 March, from 23.00 – LIVE
Round 5, Atlanta, Sunday 19 March, 15.30
Round 6, Bristol, Saturday 25 March, 20.00 - LIVE
