Touring de Force
The third round of the 2006 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) heads for the Cheshire circuit of Oulton Park. Widely accepted as a true drivers’ circuit, it features fast corners, little margin for error and plenty of overtaking opportunities – the key ingredients for spectacular saloon car racing. SEAT leads the manufacturers’ and teams’ championships, while reigning champion Matt Neal heads the drivers’ standings, thanks to a pair of race wins at the second round at Mondello Park in Ireland. As usual, Motors TV will be showing all three BTCC races live, the only channel to do so, along with the all-important support races, many of which form a ladder of opportunity to the BTCC.

Is It A Bird, Is It A Plane?
Round 3 of the 2006 Australian V8 Supercar series takes the crews west to the Barbagallo Raceway in Western Australia. Barbagallo hosted the Australian Grand Prix way back in 1979 and has rumbled with the V8 Supercars ever since the series started. Reigning champion Russel Ingall leads the standings after two rounds, just one point ahead of Rick Kelly. But it was Mark Skaife who was the man of the hour at the second round, his race victory equaling Peter Brock’s record of 37 career wins in the process. So he’ll be looking to go one, or even three, better in WA. Motors TV brings full, as live, coverage of all three races, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Houston, We Have A Race On
The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) heads for Houston for its second round, on a temporary street circuit alongside the Champ Car World Series. Hot on the heels of the new diesel R10’s win at the opening round at the Sebring 12 Hours, Audi is expected to set the pace in the venerable R8 in the P1 class. However, the Penske-run P2 Porsche Spyders, which demonstrated excellent pace at Sebring despite poor reliability, should be fast and possibly challenge for overall victory. The Intersport Racing team will also be hoping to repeat its success from Sebring, where it won the P2 class and finished second overall, the highest finish for a P2 team at that famous race. Motors TV will be showing full coverage of the race from the Reliant Park area of Houston, as dusk falls across the Texan city.

A Relaxing Spa Weekend
The Belgian countryside is the location for the second round of the 2006 Le Mans Series, the 1000km of Spa. Almost 50 cars, spread across the four categories (LMP1, LMP2, GT1 and GT2) are entered and are sure to provide incredible action over the 1000Km or six hours, whichever comes first. The Swiss Spirit team set the early pace in wet conditions at the opening round in Turkey but a collision saw the end of its challenge and Pescarolo went on to claim the win. Motors TV is showing the highlights of all the action from this iconic racetrack.

They are the Champs
As well as the American Le Mans Series, the street circuit at Houston hosts the Champ Car World Series this month and Motors TV is showing highlights of the second round. Reigning champion Sebastien Bourdais won the first race, the Grand Prix of Long Beach, closely followed by British ex-Formula One driver, Justin Wilson. The 750bhp single-seaters take to the 1.6-mile man-made Houston circuit as the sun goes down and Motors TV shows the highlights of all the action.
