Lemar, Jamelia and Girls Aloud Appearing Live at Rockingham on 6th June

BRIT Nominees Triple the Fun at Second Days of Thunder Event

Not one, not two, but three top music acts will be taking to the Rockingham stage on June 6th as BRIT award nominees Lemar and Jamelia, plus the chart topping Girls Aloud will all be appearing live at the second Days of Thunder event of the year.

“By securing these three top UK music acts so soon after announcing the Blue concert at the first event on the 2nd May, Rockingham has established Days of Thunder as one of the UK’s leading attractions for a family day out,” said Rockingham CEO Ashley Pover.  “The mixture of music and motor racing is certainly appealing to a wide audience.  The VIP Front Stage passes for Blue sold out within 72 hours and some of them ended up selling for a premium on eBay.co.uk.  So if you are a fan of these bands make sure you buy your tickets early.”

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Monday 1st March and are available by ringing the 24 hour credit card hotline 08702 647 625.  Advance general admission tickets to the event cost £14.95 for adults, £5 for children (5 to 16), Children under 5 are Free.  There is a special family ticket for two adults and two children for £32.  These tickets include access to the entire event, including unreserved grandstand seating and paddock entry for the racing and then entry for the concert.

There will also be a limited allocation of VIP Front Stage passes for the Lemar, Jamelia, Girls Aloud concert at £10 each, which will allow fans to stand right in front of the main stage.  These special passes can only be bought with a general admission ticket.  Rockingham season pass holders have a reserved allocation of these special VIP tickets.

The Days of Thunder series – featuring 170mph American V8 car racing as seen in the Tom Cruise film of the same name – will take place on the first Sunday of each month, from May to October. Rockingham’s 52,000 seater venue offers 100% visibility from 95% of its seats, which means fans can witness all the action at Europe's fastest circuit.

As well as the concert, motor racing and treats to be had in the ‘Adrenalin’ merchandise shop, the June 6th event offers lots of other great attractions: There’ll be pick-up truck racing, an air display, breathtaking on-track shows and the Adrenalin Alley ramp park.

LEMARA finalist in the 2002 Fame Academy TV show, Lemar has proved himself to be a winner when it comes to the charts.  The hit records Dance (With U), the double A-side 50/50/Lullaby and his debut album, Dedicated have confirmed Lemar as one of the UK’s leading solo artists.  These achievements have led to two nominations at this months BRITS – best British Urban Act and Best British Breakthrough Artist.

JAMELIAJamelia’s singing career started at the age of 15.  The singer from Birmingham burst back onto the music scene in 2003 with the huge hit singles ‘Bout, and Superstar and September 2003 saw the release of her second album, Thank You.  Jamelia, like Lemar, has also received two BRIT nominations, one for Best British Female Solo Artist and the other for Best British Single.

GIRLS ALOUDIn just over a year Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts have raised the stakes in the UK chart scene.  Girls Aloud saw their debut single ‘Sounds of the Underground’ take the coveted Christmas No 1 spot in 2002 and was the best selling single in the UK for a month.  This was followed up by the smash hit singles No Good Advice and Jump.
