We can’t say that Giacomo Piccini‘s debut in Albacete was an unforgettable one - times set during the free practice sessions didn’t anticipate anything good - the car was too slow for Giacomo to keep up with the other drivers.
There’s still a lot of work to be done to compete for the Spanish Formula 3’s front line.

“I’m leaving Albacete with the awareness that I still have a long way to go. I just hope that I soon get a chance to do a test session with the team so we can work on the car that has proven to have a lot of problems.
I wasn’t able to find the right balance in Albacete and I felt that the engine wasn’t pushing hard enough. Everyone can see the result: bad qualifications and 2 races that should be forgotten. However, I think it’s important for me to highlight what happened in Race 2.
After starting off well in race 2, I was able to gain a few positions but had to work hard to fight off my opponents who were close behind. Race 2 was then stopped due to an accident but I started off well again the second time round. I managed to get up to fifth place but my car wasn’t allowing me to keep up with the rhythm of the front liners. I actually had a hard time keeping the car on track. I tried my best to keep up the rhythm but my single-seater was at times impossible to drive. For this reason I suddenly lost control of the car and went off track. Both the team and I know that we have to work hard to be competitive.”
