Paul Revere 250 Driver Quotes

Max Angelelli, driver of the No. 10 SunTrust Racing Pontiac Riley

Of course, I thought I could have caught Andy Wallace (if the yellow had notwaved late in the race), my car was faster. I'm happy I ran the fastest lapof the race. I was really scared when the caution came out. I knew they(Papis) had new tires, and my tires were pretty old, so I really pushed atthe end. I didn't know if I was much quicker.

Wayne Taylor, driver of the No. 10 SunTrust Racing Riley

"Once we got in the qualifying, we concentrated on getting in the racesetup. It's one thing being the fastest in every session, it counts when youget the checkered flag. It's been a long time - it's very satisfying.Winning again at Daytona is great."

Scott Pruett, driver of the No. 01 CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley

'Those guys didn't miss a beat. The 10 car's been our rival all year long,we've been trading it back and forth. But we're in it for the championship. It's hard to race these guys head to head because of the engine differences, but they've made some mistakes and we've taken advantage of them. When they don't, we'll finish second, and make a hard run for the championship."

Bill Auberlen, driver of the No. 21 PTG BMW M3

"This is the second time that I've won the Paul Revere 250. I really loveit. Our car was a handful. The Porsches had us covered on top speed. We had them covered on the infield. We had them covered on our driver lineup, our pit crew and our strategy. That's what we owe this thing. We were pretty bad in practice. I left it in the hands of the crew. They tuned the car up.(They) turned it from a four-lap car into a 20-lap car, which was mucheasier to deal with in the race."

Justin Marks, driver of the No. 21 PTG BMW M3

"We fought the same problem all week. It was difficult for us to get thepower down in the corners. It was just real loose. We made a lot of changesbefore the race. The experience of the team made those changes the rightones. The car was the best in the race and I just tried to stay in touchwith the leaders and have the car in a competitive position for when I gaveit to my teammate.

Wayne Nonnamaker, driver of the No. 41 Orison-Planet Earth MotorsportsPorsche

"I'm pretty tired.  The Orison-Planet Earth Motorsports Porsche just did anexcellent job. The crew did an amazing job on the stops. I just went aroundwith consistent laps all race long. We've got a good set-up here. We've hadsuccess in Grand-Am Cup, now we've been able to translate that into theRolex - this is our first win in the Rolex. We're very excited, and we'repumped for the rest of the year."

Max Papis, driver of the No. 01 CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley

"I gave it everything I could. Today was a great job for everyone on theteam. I guess that's how you win the championship. You don't finish first, you finish second. We have some work to do, but we know where to work, and we've made a lot of progress. We were pretty good in the infield, we had to work in the other direction."

Andy Wallace, driver of the No. 20 CITGO Howard-Boss Motorsports Pontiac Crawford

"I couldn't really charge at the end. There was nothing left with my tires. It was too hot, and I wore them out with 15-20 laps to go. I knew I waspretty much dead in the water. I just had to see how fast I could go. Idoubt if I could have held off Angelelli. It wouldn't have been easy, but Idoubt it. Tony did a great job. Doesn't he always? He made no mistakes, dida brilliant job, drove really, really fast. He's a very good teammate. ForWatkins Glen, we're going to work a bit on the traction. With a little bitmore traction, it will be fantastic. It's a great car everywhere else."

Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 20 CITGO Howard-Boss Motorsports Pontiac Crawford

"That yellow didn't help us at all. The one-stop strategy would have workedif it went green the rest of the way. It's an easy car to drive. This carhas got such a good balance to it,  that it's not one that you feel you needto fight. It's very driver-friendly. I'm looking forward to racing this caragain with Andy at Watkins Glen."

Oswaldo Negri, driver of the No. 6 Michael Shank Racing Lexus Doran

"I left myself a gap at the start, thinking that everyone was going to brakeearly, and that's exactly what happened, so I went deeper into the cornerand stayed inside-we were three abreast going in-and came out in secondposition.

"From there, we were pushing hard, and were able to break off-me and the two Ganassi cars-from the rest of the pack, and it worked our tires very hard, so at the end of the stint, I was just hanging on as the tires were prettywell shot."

"Then we had this misfortune in the pits, and so we got a lap down, whichwas a shame. I am pretty sure we could have been on the podium or at least a top five, so its frustrating, but at least we were running at the front, putting our nose in there, and we know we have what it takes to becompetitive, but we just have to get the luck to go our way one of theseraces!"

"I have to thank the guys so much, this team fights harder than any group Ihave seen in twenty years of racing and its such a pleasure working withthem, I hope we can keep racing in the future."

Cort Wagner, driver of the No. 81 Rx.com G&W Motorsports BMW Doran

"It's a disappointing finish. The car was really handling very nicely. Wefound a new setup. We tried a new setup between yesterday's qualifying andpractice and today's race. We took a gamble and this race car was prettymuch able to chase down anybody, except maybe the SunTrust car. I was really

enjoying the race. Terry (Borcheller) and I were having some really greatracing. I just don't think he saw me (in turn one) and moved over under thebreaking zone and smacked the left front of mine with his right rear. And itwas game over. It's unfortunate. It did a lot of damage to both cars. I'mjust glad we are both okay. That's what really counts. The Rx.com G&WMotorsports team is doing a great job. It was a really good race car. Thisis disappointing.

"I think the cars are pretty safe. I think they are pretty goodstructurally. It's interesting that they were both Dorans. It's prettybizarre. I think the cell structure inside for the driver is pretty safe.I'm happy to be walking away from it after about as fast as you can hitsomething."

Brent Martini, driver of the No. 81 Rx.com G&W Motorsports BMW Doran

"We got off a difficult start with getting the flat tire. We stayed on thelead lap for a while, but falling back to the back of the field is nevereasy to come back from in a two-hour and 45-minute race. My stint was up anddown. Once I got settled in, I was able to run with the fourth-, fifth- andsixth-place cars, but it would have been nice to run there not a lap down. The car was good. All the changes Gary made from overnight were his bestguess, and they worked nicely. Those kind of incidents between Cort andTerry happen when you've got two world class road racers trying to fit theircar into a little kink in Daytona. It's disappointing because we would havehad a top-10 finish, barring any other unforeseen issues. I like to give theteam a top-five or -six finish.

Jimmy Morales, driver of the No. 02 CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley

"We had some problems with the temperatures. We had to stop to clean theradiator and get the temperature down. We had problems with the temperaturefrom the start, and we lost a little bit of the ponies there."

Luis Diaz, driver of the No. 02 CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley

"It was a good experience for me. We came to fight for the lead.Unfortunately, we had some problems with the car, with the engine, but theguys did a great job. Unfortunately, the engine was running a little bit toohot, and that took away some power from the engine."

Mae Van Wijk, driver of the No. 86 G&W Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup

"I am really happy with my performance tonight. I think this was my bestrace yet. The changes we made to the car after last night worked great. I'mstill around six seconds off the pace, but that's a lot better than being 10seconds off like I was before."

Michael Culver, driver of the No. 86 G&W Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup

"This was a lot of fun. It was fun driving with Mae. She kept her head down, and her lap times kept getting better. I was saying to her father that itsunusual to go two seconds faster in the race than you do in qualifying. Ithink hats off to her; she did a great job. And this G&W team is fantastic.I was quite pleased. We came along way with the car from yesterday. It's awhole lot better than it was yesterday."
