Fast Car final at Crail

Fast Car magazine will make its final appearance of the year at Crail Raceway this weekend – Sunday 3rd October 2004.

At Scotland’s Drag Strip, visitors will be treated to all the usual 1/4 mile action with additional activities taking place on the new figure of eight drift/sprint track.

Although the ¼ mile remains the ultimate prize of the day, the sprint track – where drivers are required to complete a circuit, followed by a figure of eight round the extended drifting oval - is proving to be extremely popular with the crowds.  Meanwhile, the search for the best ‘Show & Shine’ vehicles that Scotland has to offer will continue as part of the day’s line-up.

Showing drift fans how it should be done will be the Irish stunt team ‘Opposite Lock’, which returns to Crail for the Fast Car event.

Later in the day, leading modified car magazine, Fast Car, will host the cruise activities at the oval, including static ‘Show and Shine’, ‘Engine Destruction’ and Car Tug O’ War’ competitions.  In addition, Crail Raceway has recently built a special stunt artic unit, which will be performing ‘burn outs’ and ‘doughnuts’ climaxing in the ultimate  ‘blow out’.

For those visiting the event for the first time, participants take part in the run what you brung action on the ¼ mile drag strip that takes place on the mile long runways of the 350 acre, WW2 air base.

The only requirement to take part at Crail is a valid UK driving licence and a £15 signing-on fee, which entitles participants to unlimited runs. At the end of the day personal performance print-outs showing reaction times to the start lights, 60', 1/4 mile times, and top speed will be given out – personal times can also be easily accessed through crailraceway.co.uk

Gates open 9:30am, the strip at 10am. The drag strip will remain open till 4.30pm. Adults £10:00, children £5:00
