MINI crews aim to repeat last year’s Baja Portalegre win by MINI

The annual Baja Portalegre 500 once again signals the season end of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup. So far in the 2017 edition of the World Cup, MINI and MINI Motorsport partner X-raid have witnessed spectacular racing across deserts, through forests, riverbeds, rock-lined mountain tracks and much more. Based on previous editions of Baja Portalegre 500, this Portuguese-held round (11) of the World Cup promises to be no different on the excitement chart.

Two MINI crews are lined up to compete at Baja Portalegre 500, both intent on replicating the win by MINI at last year’s event with Ricardo Porém (POR) and Filipe Palmeiro (POR) as co-driver in a MINI ALL4 Racing.

For this year’s event, Filipe Palmeiro returns to his home ground as co-driver but in a MINI John Cooper Works Rally (#608) and being driven by Boris Garafulic (CHL). The pairing hope to continue the fortune that saw them successfully complete Rallye OiLibya du Maroc (round 10) at the beginning of October.

The second X-raid Team entry (#609) is that of Guilherme Spinelli (BRA) and Youssef Haddad (BRA). The Brazilian duo is reunited with an X-raid prepared MINI ALL4 Racing they drove to six stage wins during the Brazilian Rally dos Sertões in August.
