It’s a ‘fizz up in a brewery’ as the Red Bull Art of Can exhibition visitsLondon’s Old Truman Brewery between 5-10th April. This creative art contestcelebrates the nation’s talent, as their artwork is displayed in thisweeklong exhibition - and to give it that extra ‘fizz’… all creations mustincorporate Red Bull cans!
Bringing glamour and artistic insight to the opening night, a celebrityjudging panel including; artist Tracey Emin, presenter Sara Cox, fashiondesigners Basso & Brooke and Evening Standard Art Critic Nick Hackworth,will critique all the pieces, rewarding the top three artists with prizes.
There will also be a chance to check out some celebrity artwork, which willbe auctioned on the launch night in aid of Centrepoint's work with homelessyoung people. Amongst the celebrities entries is a replica F1 car by DavidCoulthard, an Olympic inspired medal crafted by Jason Gardener and from theever-fashion conscious Tara Palmer-Tomkinson - a designer shoe! Otherentries to look out for include Tracey Emin, Chris Tarrant, DarrenCampbell, David Seaman, Pete Tong and Sara Cox.
The exhibition, which is free to attend, is open from 11am-8pm from Tuesday5th April – Friday 8th April, and from 10am-6pm from Saturday 9th April -Sunday 10th April. Visitors can get involved too – there’s an opportunityto nominate a favourite piece for the prestigious 'People's Choice Award',or partake in the ‘Red Bull Art Lab’, which will be running variouscreative workshops throughout the week.
The ‘Red Bull Art of Can’ first came to the UK in 2000 at London’s RoyalCollege of Art and again in 2002 in Glasgow’s Old Fruit Market.
