Ex-Sir Stirling Moss Ferrari 250 SWB will appear on the Hagerty stand

This year’s Classic Nostalgia meeting at Shelsley Walsh marks the 10th anniversary of the annual event taking place on and around the famous hill climb course, and Hagerty will be there as a partner of the event. An action-packed weekend is promised with historic-car demonstrations, classic-car displays and vintage-themed entertainment throughout.
One of the most famous of all Ferraris will be a feature of the Hagerty stand. Chassis number 2735 GT is the 250 GT Short Wheelbase that Sir Stirling Moss raced on numerous occasions, making it the Ferrari Sir Stirling raced the most. Moss took five victories in the car, including the Goodwood Tourist Trophy in 1961. He also raced it alongside Graham Hill in the 1961 Le Mans 24 Hours, where they took the GT lap record. The car now has sought after Ferrari Classiche certification and has been in the same ownership for 37 years. Remarkably, considering the values today, the car is still used on the road regularly.
“2735GT is a very important Ferrari 250 GT SWB with a very full racing career driven by Stirling Moss and others including Graham Hill and Innes Ireland,” said John Mayhead, Editor of the UK Hagerty Price Guide. “Restored by Ferrari Classiche, it has everything collectors want. The Hagerty Price Guide top value for this model is £10.87 million although this does not take into account racing or ownership history, and we believe that this example could exceed the Price Guide figure if it were to be sold.”
The ex-Moss 250 SWB will be giving passenger rides to raise funds for charity partner Hope for Tomorrow, a charity for which Sir Stirling was a patron. Showgoers who visit the Hagerty stand can be in with a chance of winning a free hillclimb passenger ride in this very special Ferrari, with one ride available on each day of the show.
On Sunday, the Classic & Sports Car Concours d’Elegance will return to Classic Nostalgia. Open to all cars built before 1985, the judging will be led by motoring journalist and regular Shelsley Walsh competitor Simon Taylor, who will be joined by Hagerty’s John Mayhead and Alastair Clements, editor of Classic & Sports Car magazine.
The Concours welcomes concours-worthy cars across four classes: Pre-World War 2, 1949-1959, 1960-1985 Saloons, and 1960-1985 Sports/GT, plus a Spirit of the Day award for an entry that may not be in top concours condition but is outstanding in its own special way.
