For spectacular luxury motoring festival
Maserati MC20 and Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 set to star
Inaugural event will showcase Alpine, Aston Martin, Porsche and more
Luxury retail, first-class hospitality and great entertainment in the finest Salon Privé tradition
More than 150 cars from the world’s greatest manufacturers will be on display at Salon Privé London, which is set to take place from 21-23 April 2022 at Royal Hospital Chelsea. Among them will be the latest models from Bugatti, Maserati and Lamborghini, which will be represented by their prestigious London-based retailer H.R. Owen.
With a history that dates back to 1932, H.R. Owen has long been synonymous with the most sought-after premium car brands, and at Salon Privé London it will be showcasing the new Maserati MC20. The mid-engined, two-seater supercar is the spiritual successor to the famous MC12, and its 3-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 produces 621bhp – enough to propel it to a top speed of 203mph.
Lamborghini London will also be represented on the lawns of Royal Hospital Chelsea, with H.R. Owen presenting the sensational 770bhp Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae. This latest model is the most powerful, naturally aspirated Aventador, Lamborghini has ever produced. Only 350 coupés and 250 Roadsters will be built as the ultimate development of the Aventador bloodline, and the 220mph hypercar marks the end of an era for the fabled Sant’Agata marque. It will take its place at Salon Privé London alongside the new motorsport-inspired Huracan STO and the latest Urus SUV.
As befitting Salon Privé’s status as one of the world’s most prestigious automotive events, a number of cars will be making their UK debut at Royal Hospital Chelsea, and the very latest models from the likes of Alpine, Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover SVO, Pininfarina and Porsche will be on display. They will be joined by Hispano Suiza and Genesis, plus British specialists Envisage, Everrati, Jensen Automotive and Overfinch, to provide a line-up that covers everything from reimagined classics to next-generation hypercars and EVs.
At the heart of the event is the unique Concours de Vente, a ground-breaking concept that will feature established dealers from the UK, Europe and further afield presenting 60 of the finest collectors’ cars – all of which will be for sale. Specialists already confirmed include Barkaways, Dylan Miles, DT Vintage, Ecurie Ecosse, Graeme Hunt Ltd, Howard Wise Cars, Richards of England, RS Williams Ltd, Fiskens, The Classic Motor Hub, Furlonger Specialist Cars, The Octane Collection and Vintage Bentley. It will be a rare opportunity for them to showcase a selection of their most significant consignments in one place.
Salon Privé London promises to be one of the UK’s most exclusive parties, with plenty to see and do in addition to the automotive attractions. The shopping village will host luxury fashion brands including renowned British jewellery designer Boodles. Everything from Patek Philippe watches to Riva motor boats and Bell helicopters will be on offer, as will the first-class hospitality for which Salon Privé has long been renowned. Pommery Champagne will flow and London Essence cocktail bars will offer exciting cocktails from NoMad, Louie and the Donovan Bar mixologists, with exotic international street-food stalls making Salon Privé London a foodie’s delight.
There’s also the option to enjoy a sumptuous three-course seated luncheon in The Sloane – the event’s exclusive VIP Hospitality Pavilion – while DJs will keep guests entertained into the evening. On the Thursday and Friday, Salon Privé London will be open until 9pm, allowing everyone to soak up the party atmosphere into the dusk.
Director David Bagley said: ‘With more than 150 classics, supercars and luxury models, Salon Privé London promises to be a great automotive celebration where uniquely, everything on the lawn is offered for sale. But there really will be something for everyone because, in addition to the sensational line-up of cars and the Concours de Vente, we’ll have entertainment throughout the day, plenty of opportunities to indulge in a spot of luxury retail therapy, and the very best in international food and drink. Few cities can match London as a place to enjoy a party, and this will be an unforgettable way to open the motoring season.’
