Brands Hatch to stage 2024 British GT Championship finale

Circuit swaps places with erstwhile ‘Donington Decider’

Brands Hatch will now stage 2024’s Intelligent Money British GT Championship finale following a change to the provisional calendar.

The Kent venue has swapped places with Donington Park, which moves to the former’s early September date. The series finale at Brands then takes place three weeks later on September 28/29.

SRO Motorsports Group issued British GT’s provisional calendar earlier this month without a firm slot for its title showdown. Donington was expected to host the event, as has become tradition in recent years, but congestion within the UK’s domestic and SRO’s international schedules has subsequently made that impossible.

Excluding 2020’s pandemic-affected campaign, next season will be the first since 2011 that a ‘Donington Decider’ hasn’t taken place.

Brands, meanwhile, last staged the season finale two years earlier.

Donington might have lost its Decider but the circuit will still play host to two British GT rounds, as well as the championship’s pre-season media day on March 12.

The rest of the calendar and race format remains unchanged from the provisional schedule revealed on July 1.
