The 2023 RX2e, Euro RX1 and Euro RX3 championship titles will be decided this weekend (19-20 August) at the World RX of Germany, held at the tight-and-twisty Buxtehude-based Estering track.
Sweden’s Nils Andersson arrives with a slender RX2e lead, just two points ahead of his Kristoffersson Motorsport team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, who catapulted herself firmly into contention with a superb performance last time out in Belgium.
Isak Sjökvist won the opening round and despite slipping to third the #YellowSquad driver is a mere five points off the lead.
Yan Zhang will become the first female Chinese driver to race in rallycross when she contests the event with RuiSi Racing, while joining the line up in a non-points scoring capacity are CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment duo Niclas Grönholm and Klara Andersson.
Anton Marklund stands on the brink of a second consecutive Euro RX1 championship title as he arrives in Germany with a 20-point advantage. Just four points separate the next three drivers, with Jānis Baumanis, Enzo Ide and Patrick O’Donovan second, third and fourth respectively.
In Euro RX3, an all-Volland Racing duel awaits between last year’s championship runner-up Damian Litwinowicz and seasoned campaigner Espen Isaksætre. Poland’s Litwinowicz has led the way throughout, but his Norwegian team-mate is closing in and has momentum on his side – with just five points between the pair.
Racing begins at 13:15 CET on Saturday (19 August), with all of Sunday’s action broadcast live on the new Rally.TV platform.
