Get On The Starting Grid For 24 Hours Of Karting At Le Mans

The historic Le Mans La Sarthe complex, France, will once again echo to 24 hours of racing when the Karting Le Mans 2011 event descends on the Circuit Karting Alain Prost on October 15th/16th, 2011.

Commemorating the 40th anniversary of when the legendary Steve McQueen hit the film screen in the epic movie, Le Mans, the unique 24-hour kart race offers the rare chance to battle for the race spoils on hallowed tarmac.

Supported by Autosport, TAG Heuer and the Daily Telegraph, 46 teams of eight drivers will compete in the event which is expected to attract not only 24-hour race veterans but teams from across the global business community.

Competing with identical equipment, the new Biz Kart twin engine GX160 Pro Kart will be the chariot of choice across the weekend, which starts on Friday, October 14th, with signing on, drivers briefing, track walkabout and practice. Entrants will also be entertained with a glamorous reception on Friday evening, providing an ideal opportunity to business network while getting to know fellow competitors.

Each team will be housed in their very own pit garage, complete with mechanical backup from experienced karting engineers. Full hospitality throughout the event will be supplied, including hot food and drinks.

In addition to the chance to be crowned Le Mans champion, each driver will also get an elite racing goody bag packed with money-can’t-buy mementoes of your special weekend, including your own jacket and race overalls à la Monsieur McQueen, magazines, fragrances and much, much, more. Each participant will also receive an individual and team photograph taken on the grid.

Offering an unadulterated 24 hour adrenalin rush, Karting Le Mans 2011 offers the ideal corporate entertainment or team building experience while marketing opportunities with quality hospitality packages and circuit branding opportunities are available, as well as the chance to support an important fundraising event for Help for Heroes.

This unique event is staged by industry leader Teesside Karting, which over the last 30 years has been pushing the boundaries and constantly improving the karts and racing concept with over 120 24-hour races staged across the world. Widely renowned for its professionalism, the company is the only organisation permitted to run independent races at Le Mans under the sanctions of the ACO (Automobile Club De L’Ouest).

Bob Pope (Race Director) commented: “Karting Le Mans 2011 marks the 23rd year of Teesside Karting hosting a 24-hour race at the Circuit Karting Alain Prost, so it seemed only appropriate to make this one of our biggest and best events yet by honouring the legendary Steve McQueen Le Mans movie.

“We have an unrivalled event lined up which will offer 46 lucky teams an experience of a lifetime. Equipped with the best corporate kart in the world and supported by our full time team of skilled mechanics, this promises to be the fastest and most competitive 24 hour kart race out there.
