FROM THE THREE SUCCESSFUL SORRENTO ROADS EDITIONS COMES THE NEW ITALIAN RED ARROW EVENT: A 600 KILOMETRE RACE DISCOVERING CAMPANIA, BASILICATA AND PUGLIA
000 Miglia 2024 launches the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy, a new event from 10 to 13 April taking the Red Arrow beyond the classic routes of the Most Beautiful Race In The World.
The idea stems from the success of Sorrento Roads. Three editions offered an Italian-Style driving experience amidst unparalleled panoramas, glamorous locations and activities to discover the excellence of the territory. While the Sorrento Roads format focused on the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast, with a few forays into the surrounding area, the Experience Italy itinerary will cross Southern Italy from West to East, connecting the two seas, from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic, passing some of the emblematic locations of Campania, Basilicata and Puglia.
On Thursday 10 April the event will have a prelude in the heart of Sorrento: after completing the technical and administrative checks, the crews will race along the characteristic Corso Italia promenade, challenging each other in an exciting knock-out competition valid for the fourth edition of the Città di Sorrento Trophy, made unique by the always warm participation of Sorrento citizens and tourists.
The following day, the first leg of the race from Sorrento, will take the crews amidst the unique views of the Amalfi Coast, to Salerno, Scorzo and Caggiano, an enchanting village set on an Apennine relief for the first race lunch. In the afternoon, the entry into Basilicata: passing through Potenza and descending southwards close to the border with Puglia, the day will end in Matera. Here the participants will enjoy an exclusive tour to discover the wonders of the city and will spend the night among the characteristic Sassi, a World Heritage Site.
Saturday 12, off to Puglia: after passing through the Trulli of Alberobello, the convoy will have lunch in Andria. In the afternoon, Castel del Monte, another UNESCO-listed site. The competitors will visit this masterpiece of medieval architecture. They will also pass Molfetta and cross the final finish line in Bari.
Entries will close at 4 p.m. on Tuesday 18 March 2025. A maximum of 40 historic and modern cars will be accepted, and acceptance will be communicated by 21 March.
