Between 1971 and 1973, Lamborghini constructed just 150 examples of the P400 SV – the ultimate development of its groundbreaking Miura supercar. Even among this rarified group, there exist a few truly special SVs – cars built to bespoke specifications for important clients. One such customer was the wealthy French industrialist Jacques Dembiermont. When Lamborghini debuted the Miura in 1966, M. Dembiermont was among the model’s first customers. As soon as the updated SV model was announced, he placed an order for one, but with certain stipulations. For their loyal client, Lamborghini built this Miura P400 SV Speciale, chassis 4878, which featured an engine that possessed two important mechanical attributes shared with Bob Wallace’s experimental Miura Jota – dry sump lubrication and a ZF limited-slip differential.

Completed in May 1971, and finished in brilliant Oro Metallizzato (Gold Metallic), the SV remained in the hands of its original owner for over a decade. Following interim owners in the South of France, Norway, and England, the Miura was sold to the current caretaker. During his ownership, the SV was completely restored by two of the leading Italian marque specialists – Carrozzeria Autosport and Top Motors – and has since been put to use in the spirit of its original owner, crisscrossing the UK and Europe at unmentionable speeds and participating in the Tour Auto. This exceptional Miura possesses a rich, fascinating history, unmatched mechanical specifications, outstanding documentation, and strong ties to the infamous Jota. Simply put, Jacques Dembiermont’s SV Speciale is one of the most extraordinary Lamborghinis of all time.
