POOLE asset Davey Watt will return to the Wimborne Road club in 2015 after three seasons on loan with Lakeside.Watt, who has won four Elite League titles with the Pirates, rejoins the defending champions on a 6.71 average and promoter Matt Ford is enthusiastic about bringing back one of his most respected riders.Ford said: “Last year he rode all season at number one for Lakeside and as we all know, the race format made it particularly tough on the number ones meeting their peers each time. Coupled with some injuries his point scoring was perhaps not as great as he would have liked.“His starting average this year will be far more favourable to us slotting in on 6.71 as I am certain he will flourish lower down the order for us and so offering solid back up to Chris (Holder).”

SOMERSET have confirmed their team plans for 2015 which include late moves for Leigh Lanham and Max Dilger. The Rebels, runners-up in the Premier League this year, will welcome back Brady Kurtz, Charles Wright and Paul Starke from their 2014 line-up, and have also made heat-leader signings in Josh Grajczonek and Richie Worrall. But initial target Jack Holder will not race for the Oaktree Arena club, whilst Ollie Greenwood was released from the plans due to work commitments.Manager Garry May said: “Unfortunately, Jack’s assessed average would mean that the team would be over the 42.50 season-starting limit and if we were to keep him in the side on that assessed figure, we would have to make two or three other rider changes in order to accommodate him, which would have upset the balance of the whole team.“We are sorry to let Jack down in respect of his team place with the Rebels, but having looked at all of our various options, releasing Jack was the least disruptive one as far as the team as a whole was concerned. With regards to Ollie, the company he works for has recently been taken over and his new working hours mean that he is no longer able to get the necessary time off work in order to get down to the Oaktree Arena in time for our home meetings on a Friday night.”(SPEEDWAY 3)
PETERBOROUGH have completed their team building with a surprise swoop for British Under-19 Champion Ollie Greenwood. The rising star had been set to line up for Somerset after a spell with the Panthers last season was ended by injury, but a change of work circumstances meant he was unable to commit to racing for the Rebels.Peterborough chief Ged Rathbone said: “It is a really pleasant surprise to be able to name Ollie in our team and I’m sure our supporters will see it as a great way to end 2014. I'm sure they will go out to their New Year's Eve parties tonight in happy mood.“Ollie impressed everyone during his spell with Panthers last season and it is common knowledge that I wanted to bring him back into the fold following his injury. Unfortunately he had already accepted an offer to ride elsewhere by that time, but we have finally managed to bring him back to the club.“I must place on record my thanks to the Somerset promotion for their understanding with this matter.”
