SOMERSET have acted quickly to snap up Benji Compton after Max Dilger requested to be released from the 2015 team.German rider Dilger felt he could not commit to UK racing this year due to personal reasons back in his home country.Rebels boss Garry May said: “The news was not just a blow for ourselves but for Max as well, as he was really looking forward to racing for Somerset after having spent over £10,000 on new equipment. But in saying that, given the circumstance behind his requests, we had no hesitation in agreeing to release Max from the team.“Benji is another rider who has spent a small fortune on new equipment for 2015, but, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, finds himself without a team place and will join the Rebels on a 3.18 starting average.”(SPEEDWAY 2)
