Revving up for 2025 Donington Historic Festival

Early bird discounted tickets now on sale for the Donington Historic Festival (2-4 May, 2025) as GT3 Legends joins the race line-up

Just in time to answer the tricky question of what to give a classic motorsport fan for Christmas, early bird tickets for the 2025 Donington Historic Festival are now on sale, giving extra savings on advance discounted prices until 31 January.

Motor Racing Legends, helmed by Pierre-Antoine Lecoutour, has taken over the organisation of the Festival for 2025, and has expanded it to a three-day format. That gives spectators a bank holiday weekend of outstanding on-track action on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May. There’s further good news, with the addition of Motor Racing Legends’ superb new GT3 Legends series, with racing supercars from Aston Martin, Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini and more set to feature on the grid.

The full timetable for the event will be announced early in 2025, but, true to DHF form, enthusiasts can expect to see hundreds of classic race cars from the 1920s to the 2010s battling it out across a diverse range of categories. From sprightly vintage racers – some more than 100 years old – through to potent GT3 cars homologated between 2006 and 2012, there will be something for everyone. Touring car fans will have a wealth of content to enjoy, with ‘tin tops’ from the 1950s to 1990s taking to the track, while lovers of exotic GT and sports cars will also be spoilt for choice. DHF 2025 also sees the return of the nimble Formula Junior single-seaters, with their close racing bound to please the crowd.

The Donington Historic Festival is also renowned for its competitive racing, with skilled drivers, often including past and present-day BTCC and Le Mans racers, putting on a superb show for the crowds all the way to the chequered flag.

"I'm really looking forward to the Donington Historic Festival," says Pierre-Antoine Lecoutour, CEO of Motor Racing Legends. "I actually visited the circuit for the first time last week and I immediately loved it, Donington Park is a truly amazing venue. I can't wait to feel it buzzing with historic motorsport and the fantastic people that make the Festival what it is."

Organisers have some spectacular track demonstrations and static displays up their sleeve – to be announced in due course – with Festival visitors able to get up close to the racing and demo machines in the open-access paddock. Lunchtime pitlane walks add to the fun, allowing the crowds to get behind the scenes of the racing, while the themed trade area will offer a wide range of memorabilia.

Car clubs will, as always, be given a warm welcome at the event, bringing hundreds of cherished classics to create a ‘pop-up’ museum in the circuit’s Infield. This is always a must-see for visitors. Club parade laps are another popular feature, enjoyed by spectators and club members alike, the latter relishing the chance to drive their pride and joy round Donington Park.

Early bird ticket prices start at just £25 for a Saturday 3 May or Sunday 4 May adult (16+) race day entry, with Friday 2 May, qualifying day, priced at only £15 for adults. The three-day weekend early bird tickets offer exceptional value, at £40 for three days of full-on historic motorsport action. Under-13s are admitted free, and there are discounts for teens aged 13-15. For further information and to secure those early bird tickets please visit www.doningtonhistoric.com.
