Racecar client enjoyed a successful Goodwood revival meeting - running a lightweight E type and an 250 Lusso in the TT.

A near capacity crowd wearing costume of the era packed the Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit for the 10th Anniversary Revival Meeting. The fine early autumn weather provided near perfect conditions for competitors in an exciting series which brought to the track some of the finest and historically important competition cars from around the world.
Cars International entered the beautiful company owned Ferrari 250 Competition Lusso. In the 2-driver Royal Automobile Competition Celebration Race, driver duties were shared by Paul Osborn and the team principal of Red Bull Racing Christian Horner. The pair finished the fast and furious one-hour event with the pristine Ferrari in fine fettle. “The car and the event were fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed both. The Cars International Team do a fantastic job preparing what I am sure was the best presented car, and I appreciate all their help and assistance. I said a big thank you to Paul and to Tim Preston who heads up the Service Division, for supplying the car to drive in such a prestigious event”, said an enthusiastic Horner.
In the same race was ITV Commentator and former GP star Martin Brundle, teamed with F1 design legend Adrian Newey in a lightweight Jaguar E Type supplied by Cars International to the Red Bull Design Chief. At a pre-qualifying dinner organised by Cars International to celebrate brother Robins birthday Martin described his tactics for the race, “I am going to give it 90%, that way I can leave a margin for error just in case!” said the Le Man Winner and former Benetton Team Mate to Michael Schumacher. The F1 duo went on to set pole position for the star studded race which included former F1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi.
Adrian Newey proved his undoubted talent holding a fine 4th handing over to Brundle. A broken throttle stop delayed the team with Martin rejoining in 9th position. However, the GP star set successive fastest laps to claw his way to a 2nd place finish.
Whilst F1 present was absorbed with Goodwood Revival Racing, Cars Internationals Jonathan Kaiser and John Barlow dealt with entertaining customers as they viewed some of the valuable stock displayed in a wonderfully recreated setting of the original Maranello Concessionaires just inside the main gate of the Goodwood Circuit. Said Jonathan, “it was an honour to continue our tradition of taking part in every Goodwood Revival Meeting and to be part of the tribute to the legendary Colonel Ronnie Hoare, founder of Maranello Concessionaires. The Goodwood representation was uncannily accurate even down to the sales desk and surrounding memorabilia. Customers old and new enjoyed the experience and we are grateful to Lord March and his team for involving us in activities at the important Revival Meeting”.
