We had a good start today got Pat back in the boat with some great weather, as we headed off after saying our farewells to the harbour master and took some photos of the old harbour master boiling his lobsters in a pot, shame we had to get away as he only had 5 minutes left in the pot and we could have had fresh lobster breakfast.
Getting underway we headed out into the outer harbour and gave John the film camera man a quick lap of honour before heading out to sea, a call to the coast guards giving the intended passage and ETA to Cambeltown this is where we have to collect out new throttle cables, made from better material and should give us some more reliability as we have broken 4 all ready.
I obviously spoke to soon as Pats boat ground to a holt with guess what a stuck throttle cable, so we quickly replaced both the cables and got on our way again in perfect conditions to clock up those miles, we arrived in Cambletown to be met by George the operations manager for the RNLI station he handed us the new batch of cables, and organised our re fuelling for us, we are finding it hard to believe just how helpful everyone is being. After a quick lunch break we got away and headed off to Oben with a short intended stop at the Corryvreckan whirlpool as you would expect we were sat in the middle but as it was low water there was not a lot happening but the boat was turning round.
We then got on our way to Oban for the evening, Phill and Mike were all ready there having set up camp and organised a mooring for the evening. We all have a room with a view tonight overlooking the water. It was Rice and Chilly with a tin of bake beans thrown in for good measure for dinner, we will have some more team news tomorrow. I am missing my family x
