A couple of weeks ago - I pledged to run a Half Marathon to raise funds for Louis the German Shepherd puppy who urgently needs a double knee operation. Well the run was completed in 2 hours and 2 minutes - which is about average for a fat 40 year old who drinks and smokes too much. Since then a number of other activities to raise awareness for Louis' plight have taken place - not least a passenger ride in an F1 sidecar at a wet Brands Hatch last weekend - which was character building...although not as character building as having to wear a pair of ladies knickers outside my running trousers during the run to guarantee a pledge from a friend from the fens... Louis is a 10 months old German Shepherd suffering Elbow Dysplasia - currently being looked after by Vigil the German Shepherd rescue charity - (he is not my dog) and after visiting the vets needs to raise approximately £5000 to cover a double knee replacement operation, his vets bills and rehabilitation. To play my part I have kicked the fundraising off with £300 of my own money. I am not suggesting you match that but every little counts. So to ensure that this lovely dog gets a second chance either make a donation straight away at: www.justgiving.com/ross-bowdleror to find out more about Louis go to: www.louisneedsyou.comThanks in advance!
