Tiago Monteiro heads to WTCC at the Nordschleife circuit

This weekend is probably the most difficult race of the year in which Tiago Monteiro will face when he competes on the Nordschleife circuit for the 5th round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTCC. 25 km in length, hilly and formidably complex, the Nordschleife was named the Green Hell by triple Formula One world champion Jackie Stewart.

The Nordschleife is considered to be one of the toughest and most demanding tracks in the world where only the best succeed. Currently 2nd in the championship and author of five podiums from eight races, Tiago Monteiro is determined to get a good result and stay in this seasons title race. "We face the greatest challenge of the year on a track that offers amazing racing, more than 25 kilometers in length and with 64 turns. This is one of the most unusual and dangerous circuits in the world. We know it will be a difficult week-end and that hard work awaits us, but we are prepared to meet this challenge. The main objective will be to survive the 'green hell 'and be able to make the most of our package and secure a good result for the championship. I do not fear this track, I respect it and hope above all that I have a good weekend," said Tiago Monteiro.

Tiago's two victories in the Benelux TCR at Spa last weekend have given him confidence and motivation to mount this extraordinary challenge. Both races will be contested on Saturday. Eurosport will have a delayed broadcast on Sunday, May 29 at 0:25.
