Disappointment for Trident in Monaco GP2 Sprint

The second round of the 2016 GP2 Series at Monte Carlo was completed with Saturday’s Sprint Race, but Trident was forced to get back to Italy without the chance to collect the hoped and deserved results. It was an ill-fated weekend that, with a lot of bad luck, stopped an extremely successful run for the team in the Principality with so many great finishes in the past.

14 - PHILO PAZ ARMAND

After starting from the 16th row, Philo Armand only completed four laps. With a good getaway, the Indonesian managed the traffic well with smart and precise moves. Unfortunately, Philo was attacked by Jordan King on the inside of the ultra-tight Loews hairpin. In an effort to avoid contact with the Racing Engineering car, he got wider line but got his road blocked and that cost him a contact with the barriers, with the car stalling just at the half of the fourth lap.

15 - LUCA GHIOTTO

As the red lights came off, Luca Ghiotto was forced to start from the 17th place. His great start and aggressive handling of the situation enabled him to get three spots back. Once in 14th, Luca and the team focused on holding the position as, unfortunately, the young Italian didn’t find more opportunities to attack. However, the experience acquired over the weekend will enable him to be more and more competitive in the next few races.
