Treble for Jamie Coward at Billown Classic

Jamie Coward heads team-mate Steve Mercer into Cross-Four-Ways during the record breaking Classic Superbike Race

Not content with taking three race wins at the Blackford's Financial Services

Pre-TT Classic Road Races, Jamie Coward broke the lap record in the

Classic Superbike race not once, not twice, but three times finally setting it at 104.555mph, increasing his own previous lap record from 2015, at 102.033mph.

The young Yorkshireman also set a new race record at 103.125mph, again bettering his own race record set last year at 100.559mph.

Jamie also won the 500cc Senior race and the 850cc Unlimited race, completing his hat-trick in the Classic Superbike race, which he also won twelve months earlier on the Mistral Kawasaki.

The Hebden Bridge rider's achievements elevate him in the Duke Road Race Rankings to 10th position, a leap of 72 places, having only previously scored points at the opening round at Oliver's Mount in April.

Other race winners, at the Blackford's sponsored meeting, round seven of this year's Duke Rankings Series were Mike Hose - Singles 350cc; Keith Shannon - Singles 250cc; Rob Mitchel-Hill - Support race; Ewan Hamilton - Lightweight 250cc; James Cowton - Geoff Duke Junior Superbike and Alan Oversby -Junior 350cc.

Ulsterman Barry Davidson moves from 22nd to ninth, whilst 2014 Rankings winner James Cowton is up from 16th to 12th after winning the Geoff Duke Junior Superbike race for the third time in three years.
