Family-friendly RallyFest event to be held during Dayinsure Wales Rally GB on Saturday 29th OctoberFIA World Rally Championship comes to North Wales from 27th-30th October 2016Announcement comes as Cholmondeley previews another motorsport event on its grounds, Cholmondeley Power and Speed, taking place 10th – 12th June

Special combined tickets covering both Cholmondeley Power and Speed and RallyFest now available for £40Cholmondeley Castle is adding to its motorsport calendar, with the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB RallyFest set to come to the Cheshire estate for the first time on Saturday 29th October.

The family-friendly event will be a key area for fans during the penultimate WRC round, which will be based at the Deeside Rally Village from 27th – 30th October.

The extended three-day competitive schedule for this year’s Wales Rally GB covers 208 competitive miles and includes many of the established classic tests, in addition to some exciting new additions and revisions.

One such revision is the RallyFest location, which will be held in the stunning grounds of Cholmondeley Castle for the first time since the fan area was launched in 2013.

Lord Cholmondeley, said: “We are thrilled the famous Cholmondeley drives round the Castle have been chosen for Wales Rally GB’s Rallyfest in October. Our own festival of Power and Speed has shown how well suited the layout is, both for competitors and spectators and to mark the announcement, we are adding a new Rally Class to our event over 10th to 12th June,”

Ben Taylor, managing director, Wales Rally GB, added: “We are really excited about this year’s route and we think it will provide a fitting challenge for the drivers and teams. It’s not just the longest and most adventurous route since we moved to north Wales, but it is also one that offers the fans a great opportunity to enjoy the action. The new October date puts the rally right in the middle of the half-term holidays, so with reduced prices for the fabulous new RallyFest stage at Cholmondeley Castle and children under 16 going free, we’ve made sure that it’s a great day out for all the family.”

Cholmondeley’s RallyFest will feature all-day entertainment for WRC fans of all ages, starting with the National rally competitors in the morning and concluding with the International field in the afternoon. The family-friendly RallyFest will provide entertainment, displays, catering and attractions throughout the day and the WRC front-runners will also be stopping for autographs and selfies!

Admission to the action-packed RallyFest will cost just £20 per adult* and is free for those under 16, with entry also granted with a Saturday Day Pass.

Drive Dmack Fiesta Trophy driver, Gus Greensmith, said: “I think bringing RallyFest to Cholmondeley is fantastic for both the estate and Wales Rally GB. It’s a good stage that’s easy for spectators to get a prime viewing spot and with such a big market in the North West of England for rally, it’s the perfect place for it.”

The announcement comes as the estate is preparing for the annual Cholmondeley Power and Speed event, where, to complement current rally cars, some classic WRC icons such as the 1975 Lancia Stratos and 1974 Porsche 3.0 RSR are set to take to the nail-biting track.

Cholmondeley Power and Speed is this year celebrating Supercars: Past, Present and Future which will include stunning displays and thrilling on-track action. The activity will give attendees the chance to get up close and personal to some of the most powerful, eye-catching and revered supercars in the world.

The 2016 staging of the event will also feature the inaugural Motorshow Live! Taking place on the Friday, this all-new element of Cholmondeley Power and Speed will give car manufacturers the opportunity to demonstrate their latest models on track while enabling guests to test drive in a unique racing environment. Already committed are Lexus, Blue Bell BMW, Holdcroft Nissan and Holdcroft Honda, with Oakmere Motor Group also set to showcase their latest models from Lotus, Morgan and Caterham.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, Cholmondeley will be hosting a beer and food festival for the first time, with stand-up comedy set to entertain attendees on Saturday night. Entry to the evening activity is included with day tickets, however visitors who wish to attend just for the food, beer and comedy festival can purchase tickets for £15 for adults and £10 for children, allowing access to the site from 6pm on Saturday 11th June.

All elements of the event will once again be set against the stunning backdrop of Cholmondeley Castle and its beautiful parkland.
