GLASGOW moved second in the Premier League table with a convincing 57-35 win over Plymouth at Ashfield. The Devils restricted the deficit to four points after Heat 7, but a strong finish from the Tigers saw them collect four 5-1 maximum advantages in the second half of the meeting.Ben Barker signed off in style with 13+1 prior to his move to Ipswich, a total matched by Aaron Summers with Richie Worrall adding 10 – whilst Plymouth reserve Stefan Nielsen led the way for the visitors with 11.Worrall said: “Somebody is going to be doing really well to come and beat us at home.“There might be the odd day where track conditions catch us out - like today where they did early on. I wasn't happy after my first ride - it was quite difficult to ride. But we got it good at the end.”Meanwhile Mildenhall overcame several setbacks to defeat Buxton 51-38 at West Row in the Travel Plus National League. The gap was just one point with four heats to go before the Fen Tigers stretched clear with Connor Coles racing to a 15-point maximum in the week that he relinquished the club captaincy to Jon Armstrong, whilst Connor Mountain scored a paid maximum from five rides. Buxton reserve Ryan Burton totalled 9+2 from six rides.Mildenhall promoter Kevin Jolly said: “The reality today was that we won by 13and took the all-important three points, but in truth if we could just eradicate the errors and bad luck it could have been a thirty points victory today.“I have to give Connor Coles special praise today, he has experienced a difficult week and responded in the best possible way scoring big points and showing strength of character!”Burton said: “I had a much better day at the office today after last night (at Eastbourne). I could have had some better results if it wasn’t for bike issues but I feel I rode consistently to come away as top scorer.”

SWEDISH legend Peter Karlsson is desperate to get his remarkable Wolves return off to a winning start against Coventry at Monmore Green on Monday. The hugely popular 46-year-old, who has racked up over 6,000 points for the club, will be back in gold and black as they host the Bees, and starts at reserve in place of Mikkel Bech.Karlsson said: “I'm really pleased to have the chance to come back to Wolves. There is a bit of pressure on straight away with a big local derby against Coventry, but I feel good with my riding so far this year. “I know Wolves have had an excellent start to the season, so I want to come in and do my bit to help that continue.”Coventry are still without ex-Wolves rider Josh Bates due to a shoulder injury, so Adam Roynon comes in at reserve with Kacper Woryna switching back into the top five. The Bees are hoping Monmore track specialist Jason Garrity can keep up his good run of form as they look to improve their away record.Garrity said: “We tried a few different things at Belle Vue and it worked. The last few meetings have been good for me, and I just want to keep it up. “I feel I’m riding well at the moment, and if I can keep it going I’ll be alright.”Meanwhile Kent are looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season to eleven matches as they host the Isle of Wight in the National Trophy. The Kings have already qualified for the Final, and return to full strength with Danny Ayres back after missing last week’s narrow win over Mildenhall.(FIXTURES)
