Harrison Scott to race for HHC Motorsport at Silverstone British F3

Harrison Scott will drive for HHC Motorsport in this weekend’s (11/12 June) fifth round of the 2016 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship at Silverstone. The former McLaren Autosport BRDC Award finalist has plenty of experience with the Tatuus-Cosworth car used in the category, having narrowly missed out on the 2015 Autumn Trophy title last year.

The 20-year-old currently competes in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship and is third in the overall standings, having claimed two podium finishes from the four races so far this season. Essex-born Scott began his motorsport career competing in both European and World-level karting before making his single-seater debut in the MSA British Formula Ford Championship in 2013.

He raced in the series for two years, becoming Scholarship champion in his first year and finishing as runner-up in the main championship in both 2013 and 2014. His success that year, where he took 27 podiums from 30 races, saw him nominated for the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Award. In 2015, he enjoyed a successful rookie season in Eurocup Formula Renault, claiming eight rookie class wins and with it, that year’s Rookie Championship.

He then competed in the BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy for Douglas Motorsport, taking two wins in addition to four other podium finishes as he only just missed out on the title, ending as runner-up to Fortec Motorsports' Ben Barnicoat.

Scott said: “I'm really excited to get out in the British F3 car on the Silverstone GP Circuit this weekend. It's a track I'm very familiar with having had some Formula Renault experience there and also driven my sponsors' 1956 Formula Cooper around there numerous times. When this opportunity came up to race with HHC Motorsport we took it with both hands, especially with the limited track time and races I currently have with Eurocup Formula Renault. I'm excited to work with the HHC team, they have been a top team in the championship so I'm hoping together we can achieve some great results.”

Charlie Kemp, Commercial Director of HHC Motorsport, commented: “It is great to have Harrison in the car for Silverstone. It is a track that he is familiar which should help him get up to speed relatively quickly, and we are sure he will be a valuable asset throughout the weekend.”

Scott joins up with Ben Hingeley and Sisa Ngebulana
