4TH IN RACE 2 PARTIALLY ALLEVIATES DISAPPOINTMENT FOR RETIREMENT ON SATURDAY AND PROVIDES IMPORTANT POINTS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS After having claimed a second and third position respectively in the first double rounds at Monza and two weeks ago at Imola, the third round of the Italian GT at Misano didn’t finish with the first seasonal victory as Riccardo Agostini hoped.
The Italian driver, sharing the wheel of the Antonelli Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracán GT3 with Alberto Di Folco, didn’t have the usual competitive car.
Qualifying was complicated, as Agostini finished on seventh and his team mate just one place behind in Q2. Although his car showed to be on the same level of the other Lamborghinis, BMWs and Audis appeared faster.
In Race 1 a tyre problem forced Di Folco - who had just replaced Agostini in the pit-stop - to retire. Race Race 2 in the wet was better: when Di Folco started on seventh advanced to sixth handed the car to Agostini, who finished fourth and scored more important points.
Tthe next round is scheduled for the middle of July at Mugello. There are still eight races to be held and the championship has yet to reach the halfway point..
