Homecoming for Lloyd as the BTCC arrives in North Yorkshire

Daniel Lloyd is hoping for home advantage this coming weekend as the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship arrives at Croft circuit, North Yorkshire for rounds 13, 14 & 15 on June 18/19. Lloyd has made an impressive start to his BTCC campaign since joining the highly competitive grid at Thruxton in May. Taking the Jacks Sears Trophy honours for best performing rookie on his debut, the 24-year-old followed up with an incredible front row start at Oulton Park just two weeks ago.Making only his third competitive appearance in the Eurotech Racing-run Honda Civic Type R, Yorkshire Patron Lloyd is eager to get back out on track in front of his home crowd and has his sights firmly set on securing his maiden BTCC podium finish.“I’m really fired up for this weekend;” enthused Lloyd. “We’ve had two great weekends in the BTCC so far, but not maybe had the best of luck so I’m really looking forward to getting back there this weekend and I have my eye on some silverware!”Croft always attracts huge trackside crowds and as the mid-way point of the season before the championship enters its extended summer hiatus, the racing will be as fierce as ever as the capacity 32-car grid all compete for bragging rights heading into the six week break.“Croft is a fantastic circuit and as my home track, I always get a lot of local support there;” added Lloyd. “It’s going to be a tough weekend against the rear wheel drive cars as the circuit is so notoriously well suited to them but I think we’ve surprised a few people with how quickly we’ve been on the pace. We’re still on a steep learning curve but I feel sure that we’ll be back at the sharp end of the action again this weekend.”

“In an ideal world I’d love to get my first BTCC podium on home circuit. We have a lot of support coming along this weekend with sponsors, guests, friends and family so that really would be something special. The Eurotech Racing crew have done a great job and given me a fast car, if we get the consistency right over the weekend then I don’t see any reason at all why that wouldn’t be achievable.”Rounds 13, 14 & 15 of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship take place at Croft Circuit on June 18/19.
