HOME hero Robert Lambert can’t wait to launch his FIM World Under-21 Championship Final bid at King’s Lynn on Saturday. The Adrian Flux Arena will host the opening round of the showpiece event, with Lambert flying the Stars’ flag after being handed a permanent wildcard for the series – and he is one of four GB representatives on the night.Lambert said: “It’s great to be on my home track at King’s Lynn in the first round, it’s somewhere I know well so I hope I can make the most of it.“It’s going to be tough and anything can happen on the day, but I’d like to think I can use my knowledge around there to have a good meeting and get off to a good start.“Hopefully the crowd can give me plenty of support and I can make the most of it by putting in a good performance.”

SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter has called on his riders to re-assert their home dominance when they host Lakeside in a crucial encounter at the Abbey on Thursday. The Robins have lost their last two home matches, against Poole and Leicester, and now go into two matches in two days against the table-topping Hammers. They look set to be at full strength although Aussie ace Nick Morris will undergo a late fitness test on an ankle injury sustained at Leicester last time out, whilst the Hammers operate rider replacement for the unavailable Kim Nilsson.Said Rossiter: “Clearly our home record so far this season is something of a concern, it’s unusual for Swindon teams to be beaten around the Abbey and we are desperate to get back to winning ways at home.“We can’t keep relying on winning away matches, we’ve got to start doing a lot better at Swindon. That said, I am fairly happy with where we are halfway through the season - we’re still in a good position and we need to make sure we stay there.”Lakeside coach Kelvin Tatum said: “Swindon are a totally baffling side because they've got such a great team yet they've been very up and down early doors.“The outcome of these meetings could be huge when it comes to the reckoning for the play-off places, and we’re going to have to be at our very best once again.”

SHEFFIELD can move level on points at the top of the Premier League with a victory over Rye House at Owlerton on Thursday. The Tigers are unbeaten at home in seven outings and now face the Rockets who go into their first away fixture without No.1 Edward Kennett. However, in-form Australian Sam Masters comes in for the visitors as a guest, and they continue to operate rider-replacement for the injured Peter Karger.Sheffield star Kyle Howarth said: “The whole team’s going well lately and it’s good for our confidence to be on a run like we’re on.“We’ve beaten some good sides so far and we just need to bang in as many wins as we can because it’s a really strong league this year.“I’ve been doing okay but I know I can do better and hopefully that will start with me getting back to double figures on Thursday.”

CRADLEY have moved to sign former Eastbourne captain Richard Andrews. The 24-year-old is close to full fitness having suffered a broken scaphoid back in March, and is set to come into the Heathens team subject to BSPA approval as a replacement for Jack Kingston.Heathens co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “It’s well documented that things didn’t quite go to plan with Jack and we’re sorry to have to let him go.“We knew Richard was edging closer and closer to a return to racing and once he was given the green light by doctors, we acted quickly.“Because he got injured on his opening meeting of the season, almost three months ago, he naturally needs a bit of bike time before we throw him back into the thick of the action. In an ideal world he’ll be ready to line-up in our next home meeting at Monmore on Monday, June 27 which is ironically against his old club Eastbourne!”
