Two weeks after the latest round at Monte Carlo, Trident is ready to go back on-track as the GP2 Series is set to line-up in the sunny and beautiful Baku at the city’s brand-new temporary street venue.
According to what revealed by track's designer Hermann Tilke during the press presentation held on the last 29th of February, the track – the second longest in the circus after Spa-Francorchamps - is really demanding in terms of engineering and construction. Highlighting the frame of the new venue, the beautiful seafront area, the historical sightseeings and the spectacular Parliament building.
Our drivers will need to be precise and courageous throughout the castle section, which is particularly narrow and runs uphill around the old city. At the same time, they will need some speed and aggression on the long straight at the side of the Caspian Sera, where the cars will reach speeds around 310 kilometers per hour.
The race activity at the Azerbaijani venue will unfold on a slightly different schedule compared to usual. The weekend of racing will officially start with Race 1 scheduled for 12:00 on Saturdy, followed by Race 2, the sprint race, to be held at 14:00 on Sunday.
