The AmDTuning.com team will hope to pick up more points when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads for Croft this weekend for the final meeting before the summer break. The West Thurrock-based team makes the long trip to North Yorkshire hoping to build on the pace displayed in the final race of the weekend at Oulton Park earlier this month, when driver Ollie Jackson was able to match the times being set by a number of top ten runners.Unfortunately for Ollie, an unscheduled visit to the pits during that race following contact on track meant he was unable to make the most of the undoubted speed in his Audi S3, with the team having worked hard to make a series of improvements over the opening four meetings of the campaign.Ollie will now look to add to his solitary points finish for the season with a strong showing at the circuit where the Audi made its debut in AmDTuning.com colours last year, with the 32-year-old saying he was optimistic about his chances in the latest three races of the year.“Croft is a circuit I like, although I know it won’t be an easy weekend with the close nature of the grid this season,” he said. “We’ve worked hard this season to improve the balance of the car which is now a lot better and our focus now is on getting more pace, but I’m confident that we are close and that some good results aren’t far away.“Personally I know that I need to improve my performance in qualifying and hopefully this weekend, I can put in a better showing on Saturday to make sure we are higher up the field for Sunday’s races. Our race pace has been good so far this year so if we can get in the mix ahead of race one, and have a bit more luck on our side, then there is no reason why we can’t score some more points this weekend.”Team boss Shaun Hollamby echoed Ollie’s views and said he was keen to see the team go into the summer break with more points to its name.“It’s hard to believe that twelve months have passed since our first race with the Audi and there is no doubt that we return to Croft this season with a much improved car than we had this time last year,” he said. “Although it wasn’t reflected in the end results, we took another step forwards at Oulton Park last time out and it is important now for us to start picking up the points that our pace deserves.“Croft is a circuit where the Audi should be a competitive package and more points on the board would be the ideal way to head into the summer break.”
