Gulf racing took a strong 5th place in the GTE AM class of the 84th edition of the Le Mans 24 hrs on Sunday.After a tricky start behind the safety car due to torrential rain and a very greasy track in the first couple of hours the team and drivers settled into a rhythm that would last for the rest of the epic race.

All three drivers took their chance for a double stint on Saturday with the weather improving into the evening, the team found themselves placed well to take their challenge into the night section of the race.

Adam and Ben drove through the night, with no problems and strong pace the team emerged on Sunday morning with Mike taking the wheel to see Sunday dawn with a commendable double stint.

Impeccable pit-stop work and reliable, consistent driving allowed the car to climb up the rankings into the top 5 for the final hours where a solid gap to the cars behind made it look like the team were on for a good finish.

As the chequered flag dropped at 3pm Sunday Ben took the finish in a solid 5th place, having covered 4500km in the 991 RSR in 24 hrs with outstanding reliability.

The next outing for the team will be the 6 hrs of Nurburgring in July where they are aiming for another strong finish to push them up in the championship standings.
