Trident GP3 Austria Race 1 recap

5 - ANTONIO FUOCO

Thursday’s qualifying session didn’t bring the hoped and deserved results for Antonio Fuoco, who started the Feature Race in 11th place. The beginning of the race was really positive though, as the young Italian fought back to gain several positions straight away. Despite the passing difficulties with the new 2016 GP3 car and the absence of pit-stops and race strategies, Antonio once again showcased his driving skills that enabled him to regain positions on his contenders. As well as the GP2 series race, the opening run for GP3 was conditioned by the variable weather. The FDA driver managed his car in the best possible way though, and drove his car to cross the line in fifth position to score some valuable points for the championship.

6 - ARTUR JANOSZ

After starting from the 14th place, Artur Janosz was blocked at the first corner due to a contact involving some of his opponents. Despite the difficulties experienced during the race, Artur showed plenty of consistency. He managed to take full advantage of the rain falling in turn two and three, and ended up in 11th place, just shy of the points zone.

8 - SANDY STUVIK

Moving from the 12th position on the grid, Sandy Stuvik delivered a really consistent run albeit conditioned by traffic. The Thai driver posted a solid 10th place that handed him his first point of the season despite the issues due to the aero turbulence coming from the cars in front.
