It was a difficult Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup weekend at the Nurburgring. The #101, did not find the right feeling on the short version of the German track. Daniel and partners struggled to repeat the performance last week at Paul Ricard.
Competitiveness was reached only partially but improved throughout the weekend, reaching the highest point during the qualifying sessions, as Zampieri and Niederhauser managed to get to the Q3.
They started the qualifying race behind the top 10, but unfortunately they did not manage to untangle themselves from contacts in the first part of the race, dropping down to 19th position. The race was partially straighten out in the last part as Daniel managed to qualify for the Main Race as 13th.
The team decides to adopt a strategy with a very delayed pit stop and Daniel reaches the 4th position. Unfortunately it is only momentary, because as Patrick comes back on the track, he slides down to 18th. The Swiss driver does not manage to do a comeback this time and he closes the race in 19th position. There will not be time to cry over this performance, because the duo from Lamborghini will working hard testing for the 24h of Spa.
