While racing at Silverstone last time out was a major moment in South African Eugene Denyssen’s British Formula 3 championship campaign, that somehow won’t quite match up with the next appointment on the Somerset West youngster’s calendar. Eugene now heads to the dramatic Spa Francorchamps when the series crosses the Channel for its the sixth round of the championship in Belgium 9-10 July.
“Spa is certainly my favourite circuit on the calendar and I’m really excited to be racing there,” Eugene admitted. “It’s quite wide track and it offers several of opportunities to overtake, so it will make for interesting racing, but set-up will once again be crucial, whether to sacrifice downforce for the long straights or for to dial it in for Spa’s famous corners.
“Those decisions should be a bit easier this time around as there have been a few changes within the team since our last outing at Silverstone — I now have Brendan Gribben as my Race Engineer and Ollie Millroy as driver coach. “We also tested at Spa earlier in the year and we are ready for either a wet or dry race, so I feel fully prepared and we are hoping for a good step forward.
“All I know is that I’m going to have fun racing on this prestigious track - I can’t wait!"
