With glory comes power - Win a free OK engine
If the prospect of being crowned English champion wasn’t enough reason to enter, then how about the chance of winning a free OK engine too?
Next month’s (15-17 July) Shenington Super Prix not only hosts the annual ‘E’ Plate Championship, but also the second round of the UK’s inaugural OK series.
Entries are now open and Strawberry Racing is giving competitors the opportunity to win either an OK DDS or DDJ motor.
Announcing the initiative, Strawberry’s Warwick Ringham said: “To encourage even more drivers into the series we’ve put two engines up for grabs. Each one will go to the top finisher in Junior and Senior, who is either an OK newcomer or currently running outside of the championship’s top ten after the first round.”
The event has the added appeal of creating the first ever OK English champion, who will not only carry the prestigious E Plate for the next twelve months but also receive vital points towards the MSA British Kart Championships, as the series hits the halfway mark.
For spectators and drivers alike, the meeting promises to be a mouth-watering prospect, as the ultra-fast OK karts make the most of Shenington’s full-throttle straights and technical corners. Not only that, TV cameras will be present to record the ABkC classes and historic kart demonstrations for a feature on Motors TV, airing on 8th August at 6.55 pm.
The event also includes a Saturday evening hog roast (all drivers receive a free meal ticket), licensed bar (Friday and Saturday evenings only), amusements for children (including a Bucking Bronco ride), disco and live music (Saturday evening) and the special perpetual SuperPrix trophies plus Fastest Lap trophies
