Round 8: Cymru Trial, 16 July

Henry Kitching won a very wet Cymru trial, for the second year running, to become the seventh different winner this year’s championship.

Rupert North and Mark Hoppe finished second and third overall respectively, separated by just a 0.3% index.

The rear-wheel-drive class provided a close battle between Barrie Parker’s Westfield and the Imps of Nigel Weeks and Dave Oliver. Nigel just ahead after three rounds but had a poor final round and let Oliver take the class for the first time this year.
