Optimum Motorsport confirms that Ryan Ratcliffe and Will Moore will no longer race in the British GT Championship and is now seeking new drivers for the final two-rounds of the Championship.
The decision is based around ongoing difficulties with the silver/silver weight penalties and achieving the desired results as a consequence. The pair raced the #14 Audi R8 LMS GT3 and are 11th in the championship standings. Ratcliffe will continue to compete with the team in its endurance programme.
Optimum Motorsport Team Principal, Shaun Goff, said: "It's a tricky situation with the weight penalties we‘ve had to carry. We know that the Audi R8 LMS GT3 is very competitive, but we've just not had the results that we would like. I'd like to thank both Ryan and Will for their hard work and professionalism."
The team will now regroup and will field a new line-up for the remaining two rounds – Snetterton and Donington - of the British GT Championship.
