Particularly unlucky ADAC Masters Race 1 for Bonaldi at Red Bull Ring

In the first race in Austria the burst of a tyre and a technical problem brought both the cars to stop.

The fourth round of the championship was particularly anticipated. This was in fact the first race of the season not to be competed in Germany and, despite the sullen mood for the events in Munich, the stands were crowded as the Red Bull Ring offers extraordinary and hard-fought races.

In Race 1 Qualifying Session, the two Lamborghini Huracán recorded nearly the same result: Emanuele Zonzini placed twenty-first and, with only 37 thousandths from his team mate, Patrick Kujala placed twenty-second with a delay of bit more than a second and a half from the Pole Position.

At the speeding start, as usual, the two leading drivers of the team from Bergamo fought hard exchanging their positions immediately after the start when Kujala was faster while Zonzini lost ground and ended the first lap at the twenty-fourth position.

Due to their strategy, which planned a very late pit stop, the two drivers drove the first part of the race

When the race seemed to offer a choice of the strategy, with both the cars within the top ten, the Huracán GT3, driven by Emanuele Zonzini, suffered a burst of the left rear tyre on the straight. The car ended the race against the walls of the escape route of curve 1. No consequences to the driver apart from the regret for losing the opportunity to gain points. At that point, with the pit-stop way ready, Kujala went back to the pits and left his car to Pavlovic who joined the race determined to capitalise on what his team mate had built but a technical problem made him stop at the lap no. 27.
