GP3 Series - RACE 1 / ROUND 5 HOCKENHEIM - 30th JULY 2016
ITALIAN ANTHEM PLAYS FOR TRIDENT'S START DRIVERThe GP3 Feature race at Hockenheim ended up with a brilliant and well-deserved win for Antonio Fuoco and the Trident team. Just six days after his win in Hungary, the Italian delivered a perfect race made of speed, race craft and precision. Today’s win is the second for the FDA driver, who moved from third to first place with an outstanding manouver at the re-start from a Virtual Safety Car situation. Antonio was also great in defence, and when his monegasque rival Charles Leclerc got closer, he retained his position. He now has 115 points in standings, just 8 lengths away from leader Alex Albon. Artur Janosz started from the 18th place on the grid after facing a mechanical problem that cost him the chance to complete his fastest lap in qualifying. The young Pole put together a really positive race, fighting his way through the pack up to the 11th position, barely missing the top-10. Team-Mates Giuliano Alesi and Sandy Stuvik faced a more troubled day. The Frenchman paid the price of inexperience when he made a mistake at the start and was forced to retire. The Thai had started well from the 11th spot but could not complete his race due to an electronic issue. Stuvik had to park his car in a runoff area along the the track.
